Befriending
Snow Angels’ befriending service is for older people who are lonely and socially isolated and live within Cheshire West. The befriending service aims to alleviate the effects of loneliness and social isolation and support people to continue to live independently in their own home.
A volunteer will be matched with an older person and will offer regular contact either through telephone, face to face visits or a mixture, depending on the needs, preferences and availability of all involved. Volunteers can support an older person in various ways including a friendly chat over the phone or in person over a cup of tea, social and emotional support, taking a walk together, engaging in hobbies and activities such as puzzles, crafts and more. If face-to-face support is required, there may be a delay in us providing this as we currently have a waiting list in place.
If you would like to refer someone or yourself to Snow Angels please use our online form which is on our referrals page. You will also find details of the eligibility criteria on that page.
